Corsair RM750X SHIFT Power Supply Review

Even as I unboxed the Corsair RM750X SHIFT PSU, I was impressed with how it looked and what it offered. Corsair has long been a trusted name in the PC component world, and their latest offering in the power supply arena is no exception. The Corsair White Series RM750x SHIFT Power Supply brings a fresh look to a reliable product line, offering both style and substance for PC builders looking to make a statement with their rig.

With the Corsair White Series RM750x SHIFT here and unboxed, it is time to see what makes this new PSU so special. The most immediately noticeable aspect of the Corsair White Series RM750x SHIFT is, of course, its pristine white casing. This clean finish is a departure from the typical black boxes we’re used to seeing tucked away in the depths of our PC cases. For those building a themed or colour-coordinated system, this white variant offers a perfect match for lighter-coloured cases or components, and even if you’re not, it still is a splash of colour that helps it stand apart from the competition.

Corsair RM750X SHIFT Power Supply Review

Although I am a fan of the look, the RM750X SHIFT offers a lot more than just a coat of paint. The unit has a compact design that doesn’t sacrifice functionality for form. At 150mm x 85mm x 160mm, it’s sized to fit comfortably in most standard ATX cases without causing any space issues. The fan grill has a distinctive triangular perforation pattern, which not only adds a touch of visual interest but also allows for efficient airflow. Speaking of airflow, the RM750X SHIFT uses a 140mm Magnetic Levitation fan designed for quiet operation and long-term reliability.

“What sets the Corsair RM750X SHIFT apart from many other PSUs on the market is its fully modular, side-mounted type 5 micro-fit connection cable design.”

Looking beyond the design, under the hood, the $139.99 RM750X SHIFT PSU delivers a solid level of ATX 3.1 performance with a 750-watt capacity, which is more than enough to power most high-end gaming rigs, even with a large GPU. It boasts an 80 PLUS Gold certification, meaning it operates at over 90% efficiency under typical loads. This means less power consumption, less heat and less impact on your energy bill.

What sets the Corsair RM750X SHIFT apart from many other PSUs on the market is its fully modular, side-mounted type 5 micro-fit connection cable design. This feature allows you to use only the cables you need, reducing clutter inside your case and improving airflow. The cables themselves are clean and white, matching the PSU’s aesthetic and simplifying cable management.

Corsair RM750X SHIFT Power Supply Review

I have loved the side-mounted design since I first tested them, and it works great here. In our test build with the Corsair 2500D case, this design ensured that even after assembly, it was easy to add components without any issues, making it much simpler to keep things clean and looking good. The fact it also features ATX 3.1 support means it even makes a great choice for people upgrading, as well as new PC builds, giving support for the latest NVIDIA GPUs without the need for pesky dongles.

The RM750X SHIFT also includes Corsair’s Zero RPM fan mode. At low to medium loads, the cooling fan doesn’t spin at all, resulting in near-silent operation. When the fan does activate under heavier loads, it’s tuned for low-noise performance, ensuring your system stays quiet even during intense gaming sessions. Personally, I love a quiet system, so this is a feature I greatly appreciate. While it may not seem massive, the ability to have a whisper-quiet system is a great advantage, especially if you have multiple machines running at the same time.

While the white colour is the most obvious new addition to the RM750X SHIFT line, Corsair has made some under-the-hood improvements as well. The unit now uses 100% Japanese capacitors rated for 105°C, which contributes to its impressive 10-year warranty. This long warranty period speaks volumes about Corsair’s confidence in the product’s reliability and longevity, and it gives more peace of mind when investing in a new PSU.

The RM750X SHIFT also includes built-in protection against over-voltage, under-voltage, overcurrent, and short-circuit scenarios, providing peace of mind for users concerned about protecting their expensive components. I also cannot say enough about the new white look for the RM SHIFT series; it helps PC builders get the system look they want without compromise.

With the new build finished and the white RM750X SHIFT in place, I can see why Corsair remains one of the leading brands when it comes to PC components. While the PSU does not reinvent the wheel, it makes smart choices and improves on its established designs in smart ways that mean better value for the consumer. I have loved the SHIFT series since it first launched, and this new entry helps solidify the series is worth any PC builder’s time.

The Corsair White Series RM750x SHIFT Power Supply is a compelling option for PC builders looking for a blend of style, performance, and reliability. Its clean aesthetic, robust feature set and strong performance metrics make it a standout choice in the crowded power supply market. It gives a new way to build the PC your way and does so without compromising on performance, quality or features to do so.
