I have been a fan of the NZXT Kraken range of AIO coolers for some time, and the 2024 NZXT Kraken Elite 360 maintains that excitement with several notable features while delivering the same high performance I have come to expect. The NZXT Kraken Elite 360 represents the pinnacle of all-in-one liquid cooling solutions, offering exceptional performance in a premium package that commands an equally premium price of $294.99 USD. This flagship cooler combines industry-leading thermal performance with striking aesthetics, though its cost may give budget-conscious builders pause.
If you’ve used an NZXT Kraken AIO in the past, much of the unboxing experience will feel familiar. As with previous models, the heart of the Kraken Elite 360 is a sophisticated cooling system anchored by a 360mm aluminum radiator and supported by NZXT’s fans, which efficiently maintain system temperatures as the liquid flows. New this year for the RGB variant is an innovative fan design that uses a single fan unit rather than three separate fans, simplifying installation but potentially complicating future replacements if one fan fails. However, the non-RGB variant, which I tested, includes three separate fans that are well-designed, functional, and straightforward to install.

Even though the overall design closely resembles previous iterations, NZXT has focused on upgrading the CPU block’s screen, giving it a fresh look and style. The updated 2.7-inch IPS display is stunning, capable of showcasing everything from system temperatures to custom animations. With a 640×640 resolution, it delivers crisp visuals, while its 60Hz refresh rate ensures smooth animations. It is one of the most impressive AIO cooler screens I’ve tested, looking exceptional when illuminated inside a PC. The display offers a range of features, even allowing users to play video content if desired.

Beyond its flashy features, the NZXT Kraken Elite 360 distinguishes itself from the competition with its exceptional build quality and performance. The thick CIIR rubber tubing with PET braided sleeves sets this cooler apart, providing higher flow rates and improved cooling capacity. The copper contact plate, pre-applied with thermal paste, simplifies installation, making it accessible even for those new to liquid cooling.
While I admired the sleek design of the NZXT Kraken Elite 360, its true value became evident after installation and setup in the test PC. In real-world testing, the Kraken Elite 360 demonstrated remarkable thermal management capabilities. When paired with Intel’s i9-14900K, the cooler maintained an average maximum TDP of approximately 270W. It operated quietly, with noise levels so low it was barely noticeable, even during performance benchmarking.

Although I did not have the chance to test the new F360 RGB Core fan system, the standard fans performed admirably, delivering significant airflow while maintaining water temperatures at ideal levels for an AIO system like the Kraken Elite. The fluid dynamic bearings in these fans promise durability, with an expected lifespan exceeding 60,000 hours. While I haven’t tested the longevity firsthand, my experience with older NZXT systems, which have reliably run in my rigs for years, underscores the brand’s reputation for quality and reliability.
As with previous Kraken AIO releases, NZXT’s CAM software serves as the command centre for the system, offering extensive customization options for both performance and aesthetics. While the software provides impressive functionality, it requires an account and must run in the background to enable custom settings—a minor inconvenience that might bother some users. However, I found the impact on a modern system to be minimal, and the software offers a robust suite of features for users looking to fine-tune their setup.

The CAM software allows users to adjust fan speeds, monitor system temperatures, and customize the LCD display with animations, GIFs, or system information. Despite occasional hiccups following updates, the software remains relatively lightweight and does not significantly affect system performance.

I was also impressed with the overall range of chipsets this cooler supports. Out of the box, the cooler supports Intel’s LGA 1851/1700/1200/115x and AMD’s AM5/AM4 sockets. Installation is straightforward, though cable management can be challenging due to the additional connections required for the LCD screen. While I have struggled with some AIO systems in the past, the full installation from unboxing to turning the system on was under 30 minutes, making it something you can get up and running relatively quickly, provided you don’t spend hours testing out the many features and settings you can adjust within the software.
With that said, there is one significant factor that could keep the Kraken Elite 360 from becoming part of your new rig: the price. At nearly $300, the Kraken Elite 360 firmly positions itself in the premium segment of the AIO market. While the price might seem steep, it offers tangible benefits in both performance and aesthetics. The cooler consistently maintains lower temperatures than many competitors, particularly during intensive tasks. While there are cheaper options, few provide the robust build quality and features that make this such an exciting AIO offering.

The NZXT Kraken Elite 360 earns its high score through a combination of exceptional cooling performance, premium build quality, and striking aesthetics. While the price point may deter some potential buyers, those seeking top-tier cooling performance combined with eye-catching design will find the investment worthwhile. Add to that the six-year warranty, and you have peace of mind knowing your system will remain cool for years to come.
The NZXT Kraken Elite 360 AIO Cooler excels in both form and function, delivering chart-topping thermal performance while maintaining reasonable noise levels. The innovative fan block design simplifies installation, although it could complicate future maintenance. The stunning LCD and comprehensive software controls provide unprecedented customization options, setting new standards for AIO coolers. For those who can justify the investment, the NZXT Kraken Elite 360 offers a cooling solution that is as capable as it is beautiful, earning its place among the elite of PC cooling solutions.
